The second annual Pedal Power event is a 5-mile kid's bike ride to raise funds for the pediatric cancer programs of the Jimmy Fund and Boston Children's Hospital. This year's ride will be in loving memory of Meghan Duffy,
co-founder of the event with her friend Maddy Thursby.

The inspiration for the ride came from the Duffy Family's long standing participation in the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC), an adult version of Pedal Power. Both Meghan's and Maddy's parents Colleen and Frank Duffy and Maura and Mike Thursby will be riding in the 2008 PMC to honor Meghan's life and her brave battle with cancer.

We hope to build upon the tremendous sucess of last year's Pedal Power which raised $31,000 by 125 riders. This year's goal is to raise $40,000.
All North Attleboro Middle School and Martin School students are eligible to ride the 5-mile loop around the Lindsay Acres neighborhood. The start and finish is in the front yard of the Duffy's house at 185 Debra Road in North Attleboro. The registration fee of $30 per rider includes a t-shirt, registration gifts and barbeque at the end of the ride. In addition, riders are encouraged to get sponsors from friends and family to increase their fundraising power. There will be prizes for the top fundraisers as well as fun and exciting raffle items.

All contributions to benefit the Jimmy Fund and Children's Hospital will be submitted in Meghan's memory to the PMC.

We thank all of Meghan's family, friends, neighbors and the Martin and Middle School communities for their generous support and participation. We look forward to seeing you on June 27th, 2010!
